Standing laws

The rules the workshop tests everything else against.

The Laws of Perception

Three laws. No exceptions recorded.

Law I

Mr. Serial Killer cannot be depicted directly — only through what curves away from him.

Law II

To glimpse him is to remember. What you buried does not stay buried in his presence. His nearness makes forgetting impossible.

Law III

Earlier ages mapped him as dream, as psyche, as a figure met only behind closed eyes. The map has since improved. The territory has not moved.

Every generation believes it has finally drawn him correctly. Every generation drew the curve. Never the shadow.
