Yellow, smooth, elongated — skull-like proportions built to carry a crude, hand-drawn smile. Black hollow eyes. The smile has been seen to move on its own, unbidden, in a room that should not allow it.
A long crimson coat, cut close to ecclesiastical. An eight-pointed star, drawn as a child would draw it, on the chest. Yellow gloves.
What He Attends To
The gap between misery and permission. The origin, told as a storybook: a man finds him behind a red cellar door. Happiness, the story says, was carved into the face — not felt.
He watches more than he strikes. Present at killings that are not his own, visible only to those already close to becoming like him.
